The 2nd Global Conference on Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Bold Ideas for Brighter Futures 2026, brings together more than 300 experts, researchers, and advocates from across the world to share innovative research, practical solutions, and community-driven strategies to improve mental health outcomes for children and adolescents, particularly in low-and middle-income countries. 

Hosted by Stellenbosch University, in partnership with UNICEF and the Karolinska Institutet, the conference builds on the success of Bold Ideas for Brighter Futures 2024 in Stockholm.

This year’s focus areas include:

  • Scaling up evidence-based approaches and mental health services

  • Mental health in humanitarian and crisis contexts

  • School- and community-based strategies for wellbeing

  • Responsible and ethical data use for children and adolescents

  • Youth participation and leadership in mental health research and programs
