Welcome to My Mind My Funk (MMMF / M3F) Resource Hub

My name is Sitawa Wafula, and that’s me in front of My Mind My Funk’s first office in Ngong, Kenya (2014).

I started MMMF in 2013 as an extension of my personal blog, where I first opened up about my mental health journey (a taboo topic at the time), and then moved to sharing mental health information and links to support systems.

From the start, my dream was clear:

Vision: To live in a world where Africans have access to proper mental health information and adequate support wherever they are.

MMMF 1.0

What began as a personal story grew into a social enterprise on a mission to bridge the mental health workforce gap by providing information and support.

Along the way, MMMF:

  • launched Kenya’s first free mental health support line (22214).

  • led awareness campaigns across Africa.

  • piloted a mental health academy.

  • influenced policy and stepped onto the global advocacy stage.

MMMF 2.0

After years of advocacy, I took a sabbatical to reclaim my rhythm (and give student life another shot). MMMF has since come full circle, returning to its roots as an online mental health resource hub that currently offers a global mental health directory and a curated feed of opportunities.

Catch up with our mental health adventures on the blog, and feel free to reach out via the contact page.

Sending love and light,
Sitawa
