DW Journalism Traineeship 2027–2028: Call for Applications

The DW Akademie is now accepting applications for its renowned 18-month paid journalism traineeship . Participants work in a bilingual (English & German) environment while gaining hands-on experience in:

• TV and multimedia production

• Digital storytelling and social media strategy

• Data journalism

• Working with AI tools in newsrooms

Application Process

DW is seeking curious, critical, and creative minds — journalists, graduates, or professionals from other fields (law, tech, science, economics) who are passionate about transitioning into journalism and telling stories that matter.

• After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with mandatory tasks, including:

  • A short questionnaire

  • A creative application video
