What it is:

The Africa Leadership Accelerator is a new, five-month program from Global Health Corps (GHC) designed to equip early- and mid-career leaders in Africa’s health and social impact sectors with the skills, clarity, and network to accelerate systems change.

This fully funded program combines in-person intensives with virtual leadership development grounded in equity, systems thinking, and community care. It's open to passionate changemakers working across the health ecosystem—from mental health advocates and social entrepreneurs to government advisors and NGO professionals.

Why it matters:

Leadership burnout is real—especially in African health spaces where under-resourcing and heavy emotional labor collide. This program is a rare opportunity to pause, reflect, recalibrate, and grow—not just professionally, but holistically.

Whether you're building programs, leading policy change, or mobilizing communities, GHC’s Africa Leadership Accelerator helps you sharpen your vision, strengthen your leadership practice, and plug into a pan-African network of bold health leaders.

What you’ll gain

  • Two in-person gatherings in Uganda (August & December)

  • Personalized coaching + peer learning groups

  • Skills in equity-driven leadership, narrative power, and systems change

  • Tools to navigate complexity, burnout, and leadership growth

  • Membership in the Global Health Corps network of 1000+ fellows and alumni

Who should apply

  • African nationals aged 21–40

  • Early- and mid-career professionals working in health or related fields (including mental health, public health, gender equity, climate + health, etc.)

  • People with a demonstrated commitment to social change and equity

  • Professionals eager to grow their leadership and join a community of care-centered leaders
